as pp said like tare-in ('tear' the paper). I guess you could say Tar-in but I've never heard it that way. its an ok name. I don't like it, but I don't not like it either.
I used to teach dance and there was a little girl in one of my classes named Taryn, and she hated coming to class- she was bigger than the other girls (both in height and weight, and the weight was overwieght too at that). I tried to make it fun for her and not make her 'stick out' or anything but since she saw herself as sticking out she had a defeated attitude and it showed. So that's who I associate with that name, so probably why I don't like it but don't not like it either.
I agree with the others on the pronounciation. I went to high school with a Taryn (she may have spelled it Tarin..) Anyway, I think it's ok. I don't hate it.
Re: How is Taryn pronounced? And what are your thoughts?
Tare- In ( like tear a piece of paper out)
I like it, I played softball in high school with a girl named Taryn!

I pronounce it Erin with a T.
I think it's cute.
Rhymes w/ Karen.
It's not on my top 10, but I don't think it's a horrible name. I'm more of a fan of Tara, but I'm really into names that end w/ an 'a'.

It's not my style, but it's legit. Well...that's to say, someone famous made it up and now it's legit.

This is my name:) I've always loved it. It's nice not having a name that a lot of other people have.
Oh and we pronounce it like Karen with a T.
I don't think that is accurate. My friend's mother was born prior to 1953 and her name is Taryn
like Erin with a T...Taryn is the name of my cousin's wife, I have always liked it.
