shipping question (NTTGPR)

So, my Christmas gift to MH is a book signed by the author who happens to be one of his professors.  I e-mailed the prof to see if he'd be willing to sign the book if I purchased it, and he actually offered to give me the signed book.  I am so excited that he's willing to help me out!

The question is... how do I go about getting the book from him without MH finding out?  The school is too far/my hours are too weird for me to get out there at a reasonable time without MH getting suspicious.  I thought about arranging for a pre-paid shipping situation of some kind, but I've never done that and I'm not sure what would be easiest. Anyone have experience in this area?
