Two adorable things tonight -
1# - Ds didnt want his diaper changed so I grabbed his bear and put a diaper on it. He ran over and was cuddling it and trying to put the diaper on and off while I changed him. Too cute.
#2 - He was screaming in his crib and I had already been trying to get him down for a while. Rocking didnt work, bottle didnt work, none of my old tricks. I didnt want to take him out so I just hugged him from over the crib. He rested his head on my shoulder and I scratched his back for a few minutes. Then he lifts his head, walks across his crib to his musical aquarium, turns it off and came back to me and we hugged again. He didnt end up going down that way but it was sooooooo adorable!!
Anyways, that my AW for the night
What do YOU love about toddlerhood?
Re: I love having a toddler
Getting the Christmas tree down from the attic and putting up decorations tonight was awesome. Dh and I had a moment where we realized that THIS is what people talk about that you can't understand until you have kids. So far, the holidays with a 2 year old has been better than any holiday season in the last 15+ years. Amazing how one little girl can affect the entire family. Sweetness.
And I love watching her pretend play with various little people and figurines. Hilarious.
Everything except tantrums.
I love this age. Everything is new, everything is exciting.
I love that DS is starting to use words to communicate.
And the way he snuggles in after a nap while we read a few books.
Actually, I absolutely love this age period.
Aww! I LOVE this age, its my favorite age so far. I love how DD is starting to be able to have little mini conversations with me and using the right responses to my questions. She is also showing how affectionate she is, snuggling our dog and all of her stuffed animals and always coming up and petting me and DH or patting us on the back when we hug her and tells us "Aww, sweet.." she says that all the time now when she is being lovey
: )
I love everything but the tantrums really. There are some things that she does that just stop me in my tracks and I feel life my heart is going to explode with love.
Like tonight... DH and I were putting up the Christmas tree while she watched us. After us putting on a few ornaments each, she set down her sippy, went over to the ornaments (all unbreakable), took an ornament, went over to the tree, and hung it up on a branch with NO prompting or assistance from us. Then she just looked at us like, "LOOK what I just did!" It made my heart melt.
very true. I loved how cute she was with the family at Thanksgiving and I can't wait for Christmas with her.
