Ladies, I need some help/advice. I'm probably going to ask some dumb questions, so I apologize in advance. I'm upset and tired and i can't go back to sleep. So I started charting. My last af started on 11/1 and that cycle was 32 days (as was the month before). My chart was thinking that I o'd on day 18 so I'm thinking we bd on the right days per the chart. This morning I wake up and I got af. ugh! I know I've only been charting for a month and we have been trying for 6 months (which i know isn't a huge amount of time) but wtf! I'm disappointed and confused, my cycles are so random in length. I used to be a 28 day girl like clockwork. The last year almost it has been off. I'm just worried. and I'm rambling, so thanks for listening, any advice would be nice. I know it's hard to tell what is going on after only 1 month of charting.
Thanks...
Re: I need help...
I think that having a 8 day LP is pretty short, I think that there are others girls on here than know more about that than I do... So I will let them answer that part.
April 2011: Metformin 1500mg + Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel + Prometrium = BFP!

My cycles are usually 31 days. However in the last 6-7 months that have ranged from 27-33 days. I even had a 38 day cycle once last year.
I consider myself completely normal. if I was ranging 7-10 days different every cycle, I was have more concerns, but it is just once in a while.
Since this was your first month charting, I wouldn't worry yet. You will probably start to see more of a pattern after charting for a while.
For now, I suggest temping and taking OPKs, because no matter the length of your cycle, you should be able to see when you ovulate.

I've never had cycles in the 20 range. My shortest and most regular number is 33. But recently my last four cycles were the following in length: 33,33,43,53. Ovulating for all. I wouldn't really worry to much as long as you are ovulating and your lp is long enough after ovulation.
Cycle length can vary based on many factors (stress being a main one).
DH and I have had good timing with sex the past two months I have been charting, but I am still not pg. Having sex on fertile days is just part of the equation.
I know it is frustrating and I am sorry. Keep charting, learn as much as you can about your body and from the girls on this board, and hopefully you will have your BFP soon! Good luck

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
All the other ladies had great advice. I definitely think adding OPKs to the mix would help to confirm O date in case there's any ambiguity (it is possible you O-ed 2 days earlier, but hard to tell).
Your chart looks pretty typical, but definitely keep an eye on your LP length the next few cycles. If it's consistently less ten days, you should talk to your doctor.
As far as your varying cycle lengths, they don't seem especially "random" to me. Cycles can change for really no reason, or for any reason, but it's not anything to be concerned about usually. Were you ever on birth control? If so, that would be why your cycles used to be 28 days and consistent.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. GL, and I hope you don't have long to wait for your BFP.
