A mother F'ing vent...
(important info: I am turning 29 next month, I am 2 years older than DH. Also, MIL knows that last cycle we had a C/P)
DH and I are at MIL's house for thanksgiving lunch. Things are going ok and I am actually enjoying myself. Then she comes up to me and says "you have a birthday coming up. You are gonna be 29. You really need to get on having babies, your female parts are going to stop working soon"
WTF. I didn't even know what to say. She goes on to ask DH is we are trying again, and that we really need to because Brayden (our nephew) NEEDS a cousin.
I am feeling all sorts of stabby right now. Who tells someone that just had a C/P that they need to get on having babies?

Thanks everyone. I was too shocked to even say anything.
DH came up and hugged me and said "mom" in that tone that means stop talking. So that made me feel better.
Ugh! And she knew you had a CP last month? What a b!tch. ILs can be such a pain...
My FIL is here now and brought his new wife (whom I've never met before now). She was sitting in the rocking chair in our living room, looked directly at me, and said 'This chair would be great for rocking babies. Maybe someday, huh?' And this is from someone I've never met until yesterday.
I just pounded the rest of my wine and went back to the kitchen. Don't let it get to you!!
Oh, lovey, that's awful. I don't think I could have reacted graciously under the circumstances. I'm glad you have a DH who has your back--even against his mom!
I think for some reason when us ladies get married, our mother in law's tact switch gets turned off. They say stupid things. It's like they can't help it, it just comes spilling out like word vomit. For example, on the 4th of July I wore a cute dress I had just bought. I never wear dresses. I'm overweight, but had lost 60 pounds and was feeling good about myself so I bought one. My mother in law asks me if I was wearing a maternity dress. Gee thanks. Now I'm going to wonder if this dress makes me look pregnant, and way to punch a hole into my self esteem bubble.
Your MIL has one up on mine though... I would hope my MIL wouldn't be a totaly insensitive azzhat if I had just gone through a c/p. I hope you get your BFP soon!

Wow.... Lovey I'm so sorry! I would have been stunned as well... I hope you have a good holiday weekend despite this. It amazing how some people who are close to us and know the situation seem to be the most insensitive.
