I'm afraid my preemie isn't eating enough.  She's 13 weeks actual, 6 weeks adjusted and only about 8 lbs now, born at 2.11.  She never latched, so I've been EPing.  She never eats more than 3 oz at a time, and it's usually only 2 oz bottles every 3 hours during the day.  At night she eats 2 oz bottles every 1.5 or so hours.  She tops out at about 21 oz for the entire day.  Should I call the pedi?

Re: Is she eating enough?
Andrew was never a big eater, but that sounds about how much he ate. He did gain weight just fine though. The pedi will weight check once in a while and if the weight is on track then I wouldn't worry!
21 oz actually sounds really good. At that age, and around that weight, I think we were pushing for 18 ish.
Landry and Hudson were born at 34.6 wks and still aren't huge eaters like my singleton was.
On average, at almost 4 months old, Hudson takes about 18 oz in a 24 hour period and Landry does 20-21 oz.
It's so frustrating but, they seem to be growing slowly but, surely.
I'd say that if you're worried, follow your intuition and call. At the very least it'll put your mind at ease.
I totally udnerstand. I have one girl that will suck down 2-3 ounces every 3 hours and then the other girl (who was a great eater in the NICU) gets between 1.5 and 2 ounces every 3 hours. it stresses me to the max but I have talked with doctor, gone it to see doctor, had the babies checked out and they are perfect. they are on zantac for acid but they are both gaining really well so they are fine.
that being siad, i wouldn't worry too much. I think us NICU/preemie moms worry like crazy when our babies dont eat as much as we think they should. When in all reality they are doing just fine for their little selves!! don't worry she sounds like she is doing great!
