Since 8 am I have gone through 10+ super tampons and 3 normal tampons. I've also been bleeding through and filling pads. I never had a true heavy period in my life. So I thought this is what people talked about. I've had cramps from hell too. I talked to starannice and she said her mom (whose a nurse) said it was considered a hemorage. I am laying down now cause I was starting to feel flushed and woozy. I took 3 advil to help relieve some pain and hopefully slow it down a bit. I called my after hours doctor line and they suggested waiting it out because we are 5 hours from home. And if this bleeding comntinues into tomorrow I should go to the er. I'm just worried about letting it go to long. Should I stop putting tampons in? Will that help? I'm wondering if I irratated something since I've never really used them before. I'm scared that I'm going to die in my sleep and its going to look like a horror film took place in my vag. Would you go to an urgent care or er tonight or wait and see......sorry this is so long and the formatting sucks

***ALSO: I know my OBGYN is always on call, so if there is a medical emergency like this, I can get in touch with her immediately.

I had a hemmorage like that back in college, went to the ER. They did a pelvic exam to make sure nothing crazy was going on (I think they used the dildo cam!), then sent me home with Percosets. Unfortunately, my experience was that they couldn't do much to help me, but they did make sure nothing crazy was going on.
It took about 12 hours to subside on its own (ie: went back to filling a super pad every 3-4 hours instead of every 15 mins), but I was pretty sick for a day afterward.
Whether or not you go is up to you. I would personally wait it out, but you know your own body. I wouldn't take any more Advil, as it makes your blood thinner/ not clot as well (something like that, I am def. not a medical professional!).

If you are too worried to sleep and feeling woozy, then I think you should go to urgent care.
I hope that everything is okay. Please let us know how you are tomorrow.
If it's THAT heavy and you're starting to feel woozy my advice would be to go to the emergency room so they can check you out.

Not a problem. I will keep you in my thoughts.
Since you have decided to wait it out I would just not use the tampons and just use pads ( to be able to observe for clots)
If you pass any golf ball size or bigger I would call back.
