Has this ever happened to anyone????

I am completely new to the bump and have never posted -but I wondered if this had ever happened to any of you ladies.   

 My period is a week late (unprecedented - I have been like clockwork since I was a teen), but pregnancy tests keep coming back negative.  I called my doctor to ask for a blood pregnancy test and my OBGYN's office will not order a blood pregnancy test until I am two weeks late.  My poor boobies are sooooo sore and swollen and I am exhausted and keep getting headaches but no other pregnancy symptoms.

 Could this be caused by something else?  Has anyone else had this happen?  

Also, is OBGYN's policy normal?

    They might think it's still early. Have you tried an HPT? I think you should test and if it's BFN keep testing every few days until positive or AF shows. You could just be late from stress?

    It is possible that you ovulated late. Unless you are charting, there really is no way to know when you ovulated. Even if you are normally very regular, it isn't uncommon to have an "off" cycle. 

    PMS symptoms are very similar to pregnancy symptoms. It is unfortunate, but our bodies are just mean like that. :P

    FertilityFriend. com (see my siggy or anyone else's) has a lot of good information that can help you if you decide to start charting. I would also recommend reading the New to TTGP sticky note at the top of the page (green box). There is loads of good info in that!

    Did you recently come off the pill? It can take months for your cycle to regulate if that is the case. If your period is late and you are getting negative pregnancy tests, you probably ovulated late. Take a test once a week, or until you get a +, AF, or you hit 60 days with nothing. At that point it would be appropriate to call your Dr.

    The only way to confirming ovulation is by temping, so click on anyone's Fertility Friend ticker and get yourself set up with that if you are interested. Good luck.

    I actually just had this happen back in the end of Oct. AF was due on the 23 and ashe did not show until the 30. Mine as well have always been like clockwork. Set a stop watch by them. 31 day cycles.

    Though I made an appt and on the 29th on ob done a blood test and it was obviously a BFN. It was apparently stress. I also had all symptoms I swore were pregnancy but were not. I hope this helps.
