Lost my father yesterday...

We had a complicated relationship but I"m still devestated. He was bipolar so it was difficult to have a relationship at all sometimes. He suffered at the end and it was incredibly difficult to watch him struggle for his last breaths. He was surrounded by his eight children (my oldest brother passed away several years ago) and managed to mouth the words I love you twice before he passed so that gives me some peace but I'm still really struggling with the pain of his loss.

    {{HUGS}}  A parent is still a parent no matter what or how complicated a relationship was. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.  I am so, so sorry for your loss.

    OH!  I am so sorry for your loss!  Just reading this brought back a pang from losing my father many years ago.  It hurts so much, I am so sorry.

    I'm so sorry.  As the pps have said, a parent is still a parent, no matter how troubled the relationship. And, I also had a pang thinking about my dad, and it's been 17 years.

    Even though the relationship was strained, all the kids were there and he was able to tell you all he loved you. In the end... you all were there for each other. That is family. I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs.

    Oh, D, I'm so so so sorry. There really are no words, but I'm really happy to hear that he was able to communicate his love for you and that it gives you some peace. I lost my mom in October, and the holidays are going to be hard. I feel like losing a parent kind of changes your place in the world, if that makes sense, and it's hard to adjust to that (at least it has been for me).

    Lots of hugs and love to you, and again, I'm so so sorry.

    I am so, so sorry for your loss. Like pp said, he was your father and you loved him, no matter what kind of relationship you had. My condolences to you and your family Left Hug
    Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.

    So sorry!! My sympathies to you and your family.

    I lost my Dad almost six months ago. It's a very tough thing. I hope you find comfort in your family and the good memories you have of your Dad.

    I'm so sorry.  Like Puckchick, I too lost my dad recently and it is a roller coaster of emotions, but allow yourself to grieve and be mad if that's what you need.  I know being there meant a lot to me and my brother, so hopefully you can find solace in his goodbyes.

    I'm so sorry. Losing a parent is difficult no matter what. I think that having an ambiguous relationship makes the feelings that follow especially conflicting/confusing/difficult.
