New to this please help!

Hello, I'm very new to this as I've only been trying for a month. I'm trying to figure out when I'll be ovulating but my period has me confused. I have a regular 28 day cycle (I guess?)  but I can't figure out if my period starts the day I spot or the day I actually bleed. I always spot for 2 days and then on the 3rd day I have a heavy flow for the following 2-3 days. So is the first day of my period the spotting days or the heavy bleeding day?

Please help this is frustrating!  Thank you!

    Hello, you should read the newbie link, then click on one of our Fertility Friend siggy's and start charting. Temping is the only way to know when and if you ovulated.

    I believe CD 1 is the first day of actual flow.  when you need a tampon or pad.

     sign up though fertility friend (through a ticker) and take some tutorials they have.  you will learn a lot!

    Also go get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  It will help a lot to.  And welcome ti the board!

    I have the same problem of not being able to determine CD1...to add to the above, it's the first day of RED flow.  I hope this helps : )

    The first day you need a tampon or pad, that is when CD1 starts.
