Early Pregnancy Factor

As early as 24 to 48 hours after fertilization begins, pregnancy can be confirmed by detecting a hormone called ?early pregnancy factor? or EPF in the mother?s blood40 (The test for this hormone, however, is not widely available). This substance helps prevent the mother?s immune system from rejecting the soon-to-be-implanted embryo and allows pregnancy to proceed.

I found this info on this website recommended by a fellow bumpie.

Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a HPT for this?!

    I think that would be misleading. Just because an egg fertilizes doesn't mean that it will implant, so I think that would lead to a lot of confusion.

    It would be awesome if there was no such thing as a 2ww though. As in, bam, I have sex... bam, knocked up. BAM BAM!!!

    I agree. After further reading it says that " It is estimated that up to one-half of all embryos fail to successfully implant and die". That is sad :(

    I just thought it was an interesting fact, and wanted to share.
