Hello all,
I am new to the Bump. I am in my 13th week of my second pregnancy. I have a two-year old daughter who I had a terrible birth experience with: emergency c-section, followed by 3 NICU nights for baby due to collapsed lungs.
Anyway, my physician's office does NOT consider VBACs. However, I want to at least have the option to do one. I am looking for a new ob/gyn who is open to the idea. Have you or has anyone you know had a good VBAC experience in San Diego? If so, who was your physician?
Thanks!
Ash
Re: VBAC
Hi,
I haven't had a VBAC, but I just attended the Meet the Midwives event at UC San Diego Medical Center on Monday, and they spoke about VBACs and their success rate is 75%. They are also the only midwives in San Diego that deliver VBACs. It looks like all of their Midwife staff is supportive of this option, as long as it is safe for the baby and patient. Since you still have time, you should consider attending the next Meet the Midwives event in January to see if this is the right match for you. Here is the link to their list of classes and seminars: https://health.ucsd.edu/women/child/events-pre/
Here is a great video of a successful VBAC by a Nurse Midwife at UC San Diego Medical Center:

Hope this helps!
