Uterine polyps

Hi ladies,

I went to my doctor's office today for a SHG and it showed that I have three polyps in my uterus which could be preventing implantation because it looks like my tubes are open and I am ovulating every month.  The doctor is scheduling me for a D and C (hopefully next week).  I would like to get these removed as soon as possible to see if that helps with getting KU. Has anyone had this same problem with polyps and if so, did having the D and C help with TTC?  Kind of freaked out about this but at the same time a little relieved that at least we may know what is wrong.

    I had the same thing--I recently had a hysterscopy and a D&C.  My doctor was able to remove all the polyps (there were a lot!) and she took a tissue sample as well.  It really was a piece of cake.  I had it done at the day surgery center and was put under general anesthia for the procedure.  The only complication I had was waking up--my heart rate dropped into the 30s and the had to give me some additional meds.  Recovery was not bad.  I was crampy for about 3 days and spotted for about 5.  I was told not to have sex for a week and we're hopeful this is the cycle! 

    It was such a relief to know that this could have been an issue.  I was scared of the surgery, but looked at it as a step in the right direction.  She found out I have a heart shaped uterus and I'm moving on to more testing, but it good to get rid of those polyps.

    Thanks so much ladies.  It has been a stressful day and you guys have made me feel better. I guess I went in expecting everything to come up all clear and when it didn't I got freaked out.  Good luck to all of you guys! keep me posted! :-)
