My very 1st Black Friday ever!!! Is it worth it?

DH and I, along with another couple, are heading to NYC this weekend and then off to MD for a Redskins game.  The other girl reminded me that its Black Friday and shes pretty damn excited about it!!

Is it really worth it?  We are driving down so we wont get to NYC until around noon so we will probably miss the good sales.  Is it best for us to stop along the way and hit a few stores during the peak sale hours or just wait til we get to NYC?

    Depends check sales.. some items are limited and you need to line up early..if theres nothing you MUST have..then just wait till later itll probably be there..

    Err..If theres something you want a certain store that has a limited amount you would need to line up at the store before the store opens. So if you plan to shop in NYC then count those sales out unless you want something that a store wont say have 5 of.. It all depends on what you want.. Like I said check sales and see if theres anything you want.. Black friday does have awesome deals but may not be on something you need/want

    If you are trying to buy a hot ticket item like a TV, video game, electronics, popular toys, etc. you need to be in line early in the am to even have a chance. If you are doing a store like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc. you need to be there maybe 2am at the latest if you want to actually get what you're looking for. Otherwise don't bother.

    Now if you are just looking for clothes or whatever, then you can go out in the morning and still get good deals. If you don't go anywhere till 12 you probably shouldn't even bother, everything will be pretty picked over.

    Go to blackfriday.info or bfads.net to check out the sales ads (or wait till tomorrow's paper). See what kind of sales they are having.

    I like Cyber Monday better. Most sites have free shipping and great sales... and you don't have to deal with crowds & lines!

    Yes it's totally worth it (well I love the shop and especially getting deals so maybe my opinion is a bit skewed). My husband is from NY, so I've shopped black Friday in Manhattan and it was awesome!!! & yay for going to the Redskins game! Have fun it's a huge stadium!
