I just set up an appointment for next week to have acupuncture for fertility (maybe because the episode of SATC where Charlotte has it done was just on TV). Has anyone tried this before?
I had my intake appt about two weeks ago, and my first treatment today. I am primarily going for anxiety (which I feel impacts many areas of my life, not just fertility) as well as for TTC.
I figure - why not? It's not painful and I like the woman I am seeing, we talk a lot and have a lot in common, which I enjoy.
I want to try this before resorting to traditional medical approaches.

Yup. I have done it for the past few months. My cycles have slowly been regulating (i've been O'ing earlier, which is great because I used to have super long cycles), but obviously there is no way to know whether the acupuncture has been the magical factor. Either way, I find acupuncture to be extremely relaxing... so I highly recommend it!
9/2010: First visit to RE = CD3 b/w (normal); CD7 ultrasound (normal); DH's SA (normal but morph wasn't analyzed, so doc ordered a 2nd SA); Prog. supplements starting 3dpo for all future cycles
10/2010: SHG to check tubes (normal!) & DH's 2nd SA (normal)
2/2011: Start first Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI cycle = BFN
3/2011: IUI # 2 (Clomid + 50iu Follistim + Estradiol + IUI) = BFP!!!
Beta #1 (14 dpo)= 161

Oh nice! We can be acu-buddies then. I am on cycle 5 now and I agree that it can't hurt anything! It's kind of expensive though - mine is $95 for the initial consultation and then $40-80 for follow ups every week or two (I'm in Canada).

Doesn't your benefits cover accupuncture? I know that Dh & I are both covered (for a certain amount) for it.

I've been going to treatments for two months now, and I love it! It has shortened my cycles (I ovulate sooner) and my pulses have become stronger, which my accupuncturist said is nourishing my reproductive system better. I've also noticed a difference in my period; the flow is heavier and a lot redder and brighter. She says this indicates nourished blood and a healthier lining (not by the amount, but by the appearance).
It is incredibly relaxing and has helped me with stress levels. It's the one hour of my week where I can be totally selfish and truly relax.

This is also my first cycle using it! and I love it!! He is also my chiropractor so I see him for both things, found out certain parts of my back are actually "out of place" which nerves goes to my uterus, and fallopian tubes, which was interesting to learn! I have my 3rd treatment before ovulation next week and then he said he will place the needles in different spots the following 2 weeks. He was very excited to hear I have been charting! Any questions feel free to ask!

Oh I am going to check - I didn't even think of that! It probably is covered (I am in ON too)! Thanks!
I just set up an appointment for next week. I'm really excited, I know it is helpful for stress, headaches and fertility....all of which I welcome help with!
