I am almost 17 weeks and due May 5, 2011. Things are going pretty well and I just started to feel some little flutters in the last few days. It's so much harder being pregnant with another child to care for though! I am exhausted all the time, way more than I remember feeling last time around.
Something I have done to prepare for VBAC: I had an interview with a doula recently and she made me feel really optimistic about my VBAC chances. We also talked about how to make another cesarean a positive experience--"sacred" in her words. Yay! I have been slacking on making appointments to meet with some other doulas, so I really need to get on that.

I'm 22 weeks. Pregnancy is going well other than some braxton hicks that have been giving me some issues....but I got checked out by my Dr. and everything is looking good. Baby is kicking up a storm! We had our anatomy scan today and got some great pictures!
As far as the VBAC goes I've discussed it with all of the OB's/midwives in my practice (there are 5) and they are all on board with it so far. We're going to watch some platelet issues to make sure everything is ok, but so far it's a go.
I'm 25 weeks today. Got the call that I failed my 1 hr. glucose with a reading of 176 so I have the 3 hr. next week. I know that even if I end up with GD that it can be managed, but I feel like the fact that I'm a VBAC candidate puts even more pressure on me to have as few complications as possible in order to achieve that, you know? Of course I had no problems with DS.
On a positive note, our contract and deposit is in with our doula and I switched to my new midwife group yesterday!
DS born via c/s 11/08 and med-free GD VBAC DD 3/11!
We also talked about how to make another cesarean a positive experience--"sacred" in her words. Yay!
I have read a couple of c-section stories on my local ICAN mailing list that were really inspiring. I obviously hope to avoid a c-section, but it's so good to hear that the experience can be one that feels respectful and safe.
I'm 11 weeks, due mid-June. I remember being pregnant last time and sitting in my office - so easy! ITA that it's much more difficult being a SAHM and pregnant. I take naps a few times a week with DS, and that's just lovely.
I have my second midwife appointment next week, but this week the only things I've done are to put some books on hold at the library that I'd like to read. I've got "Silent Knife" and "Born in the USA" on hold, and I'm planning to read Naomi Wolf's "Misconceptions". I've heard mixed reviews of the latter, but I really like the author. Hopefully there's something in there that doesn't just make me agitated :P
Actually my ICAN's December meeting is about "family friendly cesarean", which should be interesting. I think I was just so naive last time and didn't think it could happen to me.
DS born via c/s 11/08 and med-free GD VBAC DD 3/11!
I am 25 weeks pregnant! My pregnancy is going very well so far. I passed my first GD test at 16 weeks, but have to take another 1 hour at 28 weeks. Our quad screen didn't come back with the best results so that was scary but our amnio came back fine, so we are looking good for no complications so far (fingers crossed.)
I recently had a very in-depth conversation w/ my OB and the risks of Vbac vs. Cesarean (I was prompted to bring it up by this board.) and my Dr.'s are completely on board with me having a VBAC, My Dr. actually told me that at this point (meaning no complications) it would be the safest thing for me and my baby. they do want me to watch my weight gain a little better, b/c they think that excess weight gain and complications are very related, so I'm trying to be good.
I'd like to look into a Doula but there is no way we can afford that right now.
I am due in March (about 23 weeks now) and feeling good. Tired, but I think that is to be expected when one is pregnant and has two kids to care for! I am feeling the baby move every day now and H and DS felt baby last night too which was really cool. I didn't really ever feel my other kids move, so this is a new experience and I am so thankful for it!
As far as VBAC planning, I met with my midwives again today and we talked a bit about breech birth because that is one of my fears since I had a c/s for a breech baby. She said she is comfortable with a frank breech vaginal delivery which made me feel better. I also borrowed "Silent Knife" from her so I need to get to reading that!
I'm 28 weeks, due Feb 13th. I've had a fairly easy pg so far, minor complaints and m/s in the beginning, but nothing huge. I can relate to pg being a lot different the 2nd time around - in many ways! Fortunately, at least for me, 2nd tri brought most of my energy back, and except for some episodes here and there, I have been able to retain it! This LO seems to be much more active than DS was - I'm a tad worried!!
What I've done so far for my VBAC: I changed providers, have a doula, reading everything I can get my hands on on VBAC, I've written out what I want from a repeat c/s and done a fair amount of research. Currently thinking about a possible hospital change, but I'm still gathering information on that one. I'm doing prenatal yoga this time, which has helped a lot emotionally and with bonding with this LO (which is so much different than when I could just daydream about my pg last time).
It's interesting - I've had a lot of feelings and dreams lately that I will be going early this time around. I doubt I really have a sixth sense about anything, but I think I'm so worried about going late and having to be induced again that my subconscious is trying to help me out - heck, I'll take it!

I'm 38 weeks, and just had a MW appointment this morning actually. She's not overly optimistic. I've been working on position, how I sit/sleep/etc, but DD is STILL back to back. I've yet to convince DH to get out the birthing ball, but MW does'nt seem to think it'll make much difference. Not only is DD bobbing around (not too unusual) and in no hurry to be coming out, but her head is tilted up high and she's shown no progress of 'moving down into position'... My r/c/s is booked for the 15th (41+1) so I'm disappointed she's not more in position.
The only thing I've not tried that MW suggeted was raspberry leaf tea, but I'll need to get out shopping to get some. MW just thinks I need to accept that I don't have birthing hips... Boo.
I am due March 7th. which makes me 25 weeks. Pregnancy is going well. No major concerns so far. Everything looked great at u/s appt. which was Novemebr 4th. We found out it is a baby girl which is really exciting since we have two boys already!
As far as preparing for my VBAC I haven't done much other than tell my doctor thats what I want to do. I actually haven't seen much of "my" doctor this pregnancy. I have been seeing the nurse pract. I am not overly concerned bc chances of my actual doc being there for delivery are slim. A nurse in L & D delivered my oldest and #2 was a c/s by a random doc at the hospital. From what I have read I am an excellent canidate for VBAC. My oldest came out just fine by himself. and my youngest was breech. he has a genetic disorder called Treacher Collins Syndrome my dr. said that alot of babies with craniofacial anomolies are breech bc they wont go through the birth canal properly and our bodies know that. So it was totally out of my control.
I go back to the dr next week so I will probably wait the extra 45 mins to see my doc so we can talk about the birth...with only 3 months to go I think I better have a bit more of an indepth conversation with him about it.
I am 14 weeks along, due on May 22nd. Other than some persistant nausea when hungry and I am finally getting some relief in the second trimester. Definitly more nausea this time around than with DS.
In preparation for a VBAC I switched to the CN Midwife in my OB practice. She has a much more involved approach and is a big proponent of natural birth and VBACs which is what I need. I have also hired a doula to help with the birth. I went to the hospital for the stomach flu which started my labor with DS. My being sick caused his heartrate to be unsteady and they decided to do a C/S to be safe. I only made it to 5cm and was only out of the bed once. I hope to have a better experience this time. I am reading everything I can this time around to be better informed. There was so much I didn't know last time.
I just found out this morning that I am pregnant! I am 3 weeks and 6 days along. I am meeting with a midwife about a homebirth. I ordered Birthing from within, and the mw has a few more books she wants me to read. I'm still adjusting to being pregnant!

So far I visited the only hospital in my area that allows vbac. Talked to my doctor about it but before i switched hospitals. I have seen the other practitioner there and she didnt seem to be on board but that is okay because push come to shove the hospital always has an OB on the floor that supports VBAC and Trials of Labor. I want to read more positive and inspiring stories.
I'm 30 weeks. Pregnancy is going fine, though I'm a little tired and really sick right now with an awful cold. I'm a little high risk with Factor V Leiden and low progesterone, but so far everything seems to be going well. I have an u/s in 2 weeks to check for cranio-facial abnormalities (My daughter had craniosynostosis and had surgery at 7 months...and was unable to be delivered vaginally so that makes a big difference on a VBAC vs. RCS for me).
No real steps, except scheduling this u/s. I'm thinking I want to read some books, but I haven't...

So I'm really, really late in posting to this (been OOT), but here goes...
I will be 17 weeks tomorrow with #2. So far, the pregnancy is going pretty well. I've been a little stressed out this last week b/c I feel like I should have felt LO move by now and I'm just a little worried that something is wrong. We have a MW appt tomorrow, so I will talk to them.
I think the most important thing that we/I have done for this pregnancy was to decide to plan a homebirth VBAC. Surprisingly, it has decreased the amount of stress I feel (for the most part). Most recently, I have found a birth pool and kit to purchase.
The Knot won't share my Bump Siggy, so here's the low-down:
4/27/07 - Got engaged!
8/31/08 - Got married (to my best friend)!
12/30/08 - Got Pregnant!
9/3/09 - Welcome to the world, Elias Solomon!
8/16/10 - Got Pregnant, again!
5/14/11 - Welcome to the world, Talia Hadassah!
1/14/12 - Ready or not, here comes #3 (EDD 9/27/12)
I am 32 weeks today, and this pregnancy has been going well. Much less nausea than with DD, but a lot more minor aches and pains, which I think come from taking care of a toddler. But I also think I'm in better shape this pregnancy than last because of that toddler! I'm hitting the 3rd tri tiredness again, with a lot left to do to get us all ready for this new little one, but I'll manage. I also feel that this baby is a different position than DD was, because I'm feeling movements in different places that I never did with DD - like little feet under my ribs!
As for preparing, I switched OB practices to the only one in my area that will do VBACs. I'm getting the feel of each dr's take on VBAC, and am finding out that some are much more supportive than others. I'm going to try to schedule some of my last appts with the more supportive ones to get their feedback and advice on making my VBAC successful.

This was me the last two weeks. At 16 weeks I decided I should be feeling the baby already, because I felt my daughter clearly at 18 weeks, and started stressing that something was wrong. Well now at 17 weeks and change I am definitely feeling the baby every day and feeling silly that I was so worried last week. My husband was even able to feel a kick through my belly last night.
I'm sure your little one is just fine in there and you will be feeling those kicks very shortly

Thanks for the reassurance! I think I felt a flip at 13 and 15 weeks, but then nothing. Although I've been really busy with traveling and everything and haven't sat down to just rest and feel. I guess it just worried me because my MW told me to keep track and let her know at this visit and we're going today and I don't really have anything to report....

if it makes you feel better, I didn't feel DS move until around 32 weeks. I didn't feel DD until maybe 24. This baby I started feeling around 18-20 weeks I think.

Hi Ladies!
My EDD was 11/22, and we're trying to be patient in waiting for DS to get labor started. I've had irregular but strong contractions since last Friday after my MP came out.
I am now between 1-2cm dilated, 70% effaced, cervix has moved forward, and baby is at -1 station! I'm so happy for progress
I've been taking EPO orally 3xday, drinking red raspberry leaf tea (2-3 cups/day), and I've been to acupuncture 3 times since Saturday. I've also been seeing a prenatal chiropractor since 33 weeks. I'm so excited!
I will be sure to keep you all updated on my VBAC as things progress! Labor and positive vibes please
