Baby Video Monitors

Did anyone see this segment on The Today Show this morning? Apparently, if you have a baby video monitor, a person with their own monitor can pick up the feed from your house.  Creepy.

    It was on our local news a couple of months ago.

    I really wanted one, now I"m not so sure! Any creep could buy one and drive down the street to spy on people. ICK!!

    Meh. I'm aware of this, but it's not a big deal to me. The video monitor is still 100% worth it in my opinion.  It's the #1 item that I recommend to all my family and friends.

    Yea I saw it also! I wasnt going to get one, then I was but now Im definitely not... even though there are ones with 1 channel you can still buy but I dont trust it...

    This.....if someone really wants to stare at my child's empty bed or him sleeping then they have issues.

    There ARE baby monitors that do NOT have this problem. You just have to look for them. We have a Lorex baby monitor (can be used as any kind of monitor in your house really) but it is a secure connection that cannot be picked up by other devices.

    Super creepy. I was at a friend's house once, while her baby was asleep upstairs in her bedroom. When we looked at the monitor, we noticed a strange woman breastfeeding her child. My friend started freaking out and ran upstairs to find her daughter sleeping peacefully. After closer examination, we realized that the breastfeeding woman was actually her next door neighbor, breastfeeding her own child. That's what sold me on NOT getting a video monitor.
