I was putting together a blog post on the external version I had when my 1st son was breech and ran across this article.
Hope that's helpful if anybody finds themselves with a stubborn breech baby. I was frustrated by the lack of first hand accounts or available studies when I was looking for info before the ECV

Thanks for posting this. I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow and LO has yet to turn around (his head wedged just below my ribs). He's been breech for roughly 2 months now and my OB is already talking c-section, which is not what I want, so I am facing the possibility of having an external version next month should LO not turn on his own and if other non-invasive methods fail.
The article is very informative, but does have me a bit freaked out due to the the possibilty of having an emergency c-section should something go wrong. I know I shouldn't look at it from a negative perspective, but that part jumped out at me.
I am glad to know that yours was successful. I have rarely seen any posts on the Bump in regards to a successful external version.
5lbs 9 oz, 18.5 inches long
6 months: 16lbs 15 oz, 27 inches long
my baby was transverse for 18 weeks, before flipping head down at 35 weeks.
I was doing exercises from spinningbabies.com and am also seeing a chiropractor certified in the webster technique. So, if you want to try other things before a version (which shouldn't be done until later in the pregnancy), there are options.

Ditto all of this. The ECV was my last option after all of the above (and also acupuncture and moxibustion.) If you search breech on my blog there's a whole list of things I tried and other suggestions I've seen.
I also wanted to add that I was going to be induced the same day to avoid her turning again but luckily I started contracting and had a natural delivery that same day.
My LO was frank breech for weeeeeeks before flipping sometime around 34 weeks.
Give spinningbabies.com a look and try some of the techniques there. Inversions and hammocking can work well to turn. Youre still not SO far along where he still couldnt flip. You could also see a chiro or get accupuncture. Personally Id do the ECV as a last resort to flip a baby because of the risks involved (although small risks!). Seriously though, look at spinningbabies!
