3rd Trimester

First bikini wax today

And I am scared out of my mind!  Though I think the woman doing it should be more scared.  Who knows what that mess is looking like at this point!  They tell you you won't be able to see your feet, but no one mentions what else you won't be able to see lol

Re: First bikini wax today

  • Can you please come back and tell us how it went?  I think I need to do it also, I'm thinking about doing the full monty and it scares the crap out of me.  I asked DH if he could take over landscaping but I'm not sure I trust his styling skills.  I think waxing might be a smarter option, but definitely more painful.

  • You are a brave, brave woman. I just don't think I could do this. Do you think numbing the skin with a topical gel would help ease the pain?
  • The only reason I won't do a wax is because I think dealing with ingrown hairs might be a bit of a problem when you can't see your crotchal region.
  • Okay....sooo glad someone posted this.. and I do NOT mean to be a Debbie downer...but I had one done, and AM NOT going back!!!  The experieince is different for everyone, but it FREAKING HURT.  I had never had one before, but as I can no longer see myself down there, and I DESPISE hair....I had a Brazilian wax and I was sore and swollen for serioulsy maybe 4 or 5 days. I went to an expensive salon too. They used all the special wax and gave me this special cream, and it STILL was not worth it. I dont have a low pain tolerance either.

I thought I was such a genius for thinking "Hmm.. I can't see down there, i'll just pay someone to take care of it for me..." I repeat, NOT GOING BACK.

  • I've been getting brazillions the whole pregnancy. It does hurt worse when pregnant. However, it has never left me swollen for days or anything. BUT you are brave for getting your first one while 37wks pregnant. Yikes! The first one hurts the worse, pregnant or not! I didn't think i would make it through my first time, and that was way before I was even pregnant! Good news is it gets better and less painful after your first. And it's so worth it, because it's nice and smooth, not all prickly and bumpy with razor burn. Yuck, I hate shaving.

  • OOoh Good luck!

I had one done a few years ago before a cruise and I was in severe pain. I was bruised and sore for days afterwards. I cannot imagine how bad it would be had I been pregnant at the time. I even went to an upscale highly respected salon/spa. After that, I vowed never to do it again because it was so painful. Hope it goes better for you!

  • OK I was totally planning on doing this once I hit 36 weeks, but am now totally rethinking it. Thanks for the heads up.
