NBR: What are you doing to get rid of your extra skin?

So I have lost almost 70 lbs since LO was born. 50 of that preggo weight and then 20 extra thanks to eating healthier, not having pre-e swelling, etc. Needless to say my stomach looks AWFUL. Thanks to genetics my skin is not very elastic so it just kind of sags now. Gross, I know. I do not want to get a tummy tuck any time soon just in case I decided to have another LO in a couple of years. What are you doing to help with this issue? Is there anything that can be done? My mom said she tried everything but she had her last kid 20 years ago so things may have changed.

TIA

  • A tummy tuck is the only way...sad I know! I gained almost 80 lbs w/my first one and it ruined my body lol. Thankfully I have a good hubby who loves me despite my creepy tummy. It does tone up on its own a little, but excercise and toning might help bring it down even more. You can buy a belly belt to keep it in place if it is uncomfortable, those are great!

Already have! lol Only way to suck it in so I can wear pants with out a horrible ring of skin sagging. DH doesn't mind the creepy tummy and I don't usually. Just kind of annoying. Thanks!

  • Yes, I got rid of my low pants and bought some higher ones too.
  • just wanted to pop in and say I had finally decided to get a tummy tuck after DD was 13 yrs and I had lost the 'baby' weight.  DH and I had stopped trying for more after a failed IUI in 2006.  Needless to say, on 11/11/2009...I was preppped and ready..waiting for surgeon when the nurse came in to say "Um, J, your pregnancy test was positive!"

Fast forward 12 months and DS is four months old now!!

And yes, sadly, it is the only way to get rid of the 'flap'!
