I have the cutest bird on my deck (PIP)

A little green and yellow humming bird. She keeps coming back. Does anyone know what humming birds eat? I wanted to put some humming bird food out for her

    They drink nectar. Your local hardware store should have the special feeders.

    She's very cute.

    Great pic! You're lucky it was still enough for you.

    You should be able to buy a humming bird feeder (should be inexpensive) and fill it with simple syrup (cooked sugar and water).

    oooh thank you, I was at target and all they had was bird seed. =/ I figured with their tiny little nose beak thing they probably don't eat seed.

    She sits on our deck all day, pretty much every day. Today I finally snapped some photos of her 

     

    ETA: She sits so still, I got within 6 inches of her earlier when I didn't have my macro lens and she didn't fly away until I reached out to touch her. She looks so fluffy, I just couldn't help myself. She was back though within the hour.

    All of this!  That's pretty cool.  Hopefully she sticks around for you to keep your eye on her!

    I called DH to get a humming bird feeder when he comes home from work. I've got a lot more great photos of her today.

    I love that she loves our deck garden. I think its a little warmer on our deck than it is out in the world.

    I usually mix 4 cups of water with 2 cups of sugar. Heat it till the sugar dissolves, it usually does this before it boils. I love watching hummingbirds! They are my favorite! Unfortunatly they have all flown south for the winter here in my part of the county! Thanks for sharing this picture!
