Is it wrong to let Sam play w/one of his Christmas gifts early?

He has been pretty miserable company today, cranky non-stop and H is now working 12 hrs instead of 10 today so won't be home till 8. I was at the end of my rope trying to make him happy & nothing was working so I have him playing w/one of the Christmas gifts I got him today. Its still in its package and I most likely won't let him play with it again until Christmas. Its making him happy, therefore restoring a little bit of my sanity. Maybe it's wrong, but its not like he's going to remember.

Must be something in the air. Even after he took a 2.5hr nap he was only happy for a 1/2 hour before being cranky again.

...And he's already bored w/the toy. Figures.
