S/O sandwiches: Why no crust?

I do cut off the crust for all of DD's sandwiches. But to be honest, I really do not know the reason why it should be done. Does someone have an answer?

E loves the crust. She usually eats that first, so I never cut it off. Most kids don't like the crust for some reason.

I used to, but now I don't. Jack is fine. I have no idea why either.

DS doesn't seem to like the crusts. He kind of moves them around in his mouth and then spits them out. I feel like they might be harder for him to chew? No idea!

No idea...now I just cut off the top crust. It just seems to be the hardest to chew/gum and DD only has 8 teeth still.

I did at first too because I thought it would be too hard in the beginning, but he likes it now so I don't bother.

I don't cut them off. DS loves them. There's no reason for it besides child's preference.

Well then -- here I thought there was a specific reason why the no crust. I'll try the next sandwich with it and see how it goes. Like pp, cutting off just the top sounds like a good idea.

My DH was cutting the crust off of DS grilled cheese this past weekend. And I asked why. He said I told him or read about it on the bump. lol I don't remember telling him that. We'll be keeping the crust on from now on.
