How many are you expecting? I've seen a lot of places selling simple white plates in packs of 12. I saw some at Target and World Market has a set in a metal caddy for 16.99. It might be cheaper in the long run to buy instead of renting.

We use chinette, we're classy like that.
I was looking for something colorful and festive. Something I wouldn't use everyday. We're expecting 8-10 guests.
Back when i lived in an apartment i rented tables, chairs and linens from this place for a dinner party once. I didn't get tableware, but it appears from their website that they offer it. https://www.austinpartycentral.com/index.html
Each year I use a place out of Georgetown that is very reasonable and has great customer service. I highly recommend them. But, then again, i don't know what area you are in which may change the delivery fees, etc. Here is their info anyway: https://www.almightyrentals.com/

One other thing, I have a very plain ivory set from Crate & Barrel as my everyday dishes and then I bought a set of dressy holiday appetizer plates to add to them for Christmas time. So, for our parties, I set it on top of the dinner plate which makes it looks really dressed up for the holidays. I also bought the matching serving platter and cranberry napkins to match. If you already have ivory dishes, you are welcome to borrow my holiday plates and table decor. I have a set of 12. They are ivory, cranberry and have some goldleaf. We only need them through the first week of Dec. Heck, you are welcome to borrow my dishes and everything if you need! I have so much that never gets used!! I also have cranberry linens for a 6ft table and 2 ivory linens for smaller square tables.

lrb, thank you so much for offering your items--so nice of you! I just called the place in GT that you mentioned and they were really nice and helpful. I'm going head over there in a few. You gals are awesome. Thanks for the recs
For our wedding we used a place called United Rent-all. They rent dishes, silverware and stuff by the dozen. So I think cost wise it was the cheapest at the time. I think they have table linens as well but when we were looking, their selection of table linens wasn't very big. It has been three years since our wedding, so maybe they've got some new stuff.
I have a cranberry tablecloth for a 6ft table and a red/white snowflake tablecloth for a 6ft. I also have 2 ivory tablecloths for something a little bigger than a square card table but I don't know what size exactly- I'd have to dig it out. My napkins (12) are cranberry though. Let me know if you need anything- you are welcome to it. They just need to be ironed.

LOL. I probably wouldn't mind chinette. But it's my first year hosting TG and I want it to be purty
