    Today's topic.. over bearing MILS.Are you worried that you'll be a crazy MIL (Or do you want to be one)? yes I am worried. I have lots of worries having a boy and DIL can get in the wayAre you/Will you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming one? yes my husband will put me in checkDo you think that having a bad MIL will make you more/less likely to be a good one? yes and no. I have a very passive-agresive MIL so I think I will be more direct with my feeling which could be a good/bad thing. Do you think having a good MIL will/would give you a good example to follow for yourself? yes my mom is a great MIL to all of her children's spouses. Tell me something good about your MIL. She is an eternal optimist...a dreamer!Tell me something bad about your MIL!  passive aggressive and a flake!

    Are you/Will you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming one? I'm taking notes about all the things that drive me nuts about mine and trying to swear I won't do the same things!

    Are you/Will you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming one? No, I just simply won't be one.

    Do you think that having a bad MIL will make you more/less likely to be a good one? Absolutely. Mine is terrible.

    Do you think having a good MIL will/would give you a good example to follow for yourself? I would think so, buy my MIL sucks, so I guess I wouldn't know.

    Tell me something good about your MIL.  She gave birth to the best man I know, DH.

    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  She lets Bryce play in rooms alone when she babysits him (which is RARE).

    Do you think that having a bad MIL will make you more/less likely to be a good one? I don't think it has a TON of bearing, but I would say having a bad MIL would make you slightly more likely to be a good one

    Tell me something good about your MIL. She is an excellent cook and very caring about all of her family (me included)
    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  She talks...A LOT! If you ask her what time it is, she'll tell you how the clock was made. I wish I were kidding. But seriously, if this is my worst complaint, I am lucky.

    Today's topic.. over bearing MILS.Are you worried that you'll be a crazy MIL (Or do you want to be one)? I don't think I will be one, and I definitely don't want to be one! As long as the boy (or girl) is treating her good I will be happy.
    Are you/Will you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming one? I don't take steps really, but I make mental notes of people I don't want to be like.
    Do you think that having a bad MIL will make you more/less likely to be a good one? More likely to be a good one. You understand what a bad one is and how it feels to be on the other end of it.
    Do you think having a good MIL will/would give you a good example to follow for yourself? Yes, any positive person in your life is giving you a good example. It's up to you what you do with it.
    Tell me something good about your MIL. She is one of the nicest and genuinely sweetest people that I know.
    Tell me something bad about your MIL! She is too passive and worries too much about hurting other people's feelings. I wish she understood that there ARE times where it's okay to stand up for yourself.

    Tell me something good about your MIL. Uhhhhh.....sometimes she can be nice.
    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  She's a pill-popper...hits up my husband for pain meds every time we see her, if he says no she pouts and thinks he's being insensitive towards her (mystery) pain.  She's absent-minded, I don't trust her with DD for more than an hour alone.  She's immature/childish in behavior, self-centered...her own mother (DH's Grandma) calls her a "drama-queen"  She likes to think the world is against her, it's always someone else being mean to her, she never looks at herself and realizes that her actions push people away.She had a fvcked up childhood with an abusive father (physical and sexual) so she has lots of emotional issues.  Apparently her mother didn't do too much to save her from her dad so there's a lot of built up animosity between the two.

    I'm not worried at all nor would I want to be one!

    I'm a pretty laid back go with the flow person.  Don't see myself having to prepare myself for not being crazy. lol

    I would think more likely to be a good one.  You're learning from example of "what not to do".

    Yes definitely.

    Tell me something good about your MIL.

    She has learned to allow DH and I to live our life freely and parent as we see fit.  She is less over-bearing and more accepting of our decisions.

    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  

    She is super anal and ocd about a spotless house.  I always feel I have to clean before she comes over even if I cleaned the day before.

    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  She gives DD candy... too much candy, I don't mind it once in a while, but I've talked to her about this and she said she would not give it to her anymore.

    Do you think having a good MIL will/would give you a good example to follow for yourself?  Our relationship is strained, at best.  So this question is N/A! :)

    Tell me something good about your MIL!  She has the best intentions, I think, deep down.

    Tell me something bad about your MIL!  She is passive-aggressive and is super insecure.  Most of the time I feel smothered by her insecurity.  I mean, come on lady, you are 65 years old.  Get over yourself, you are not a pimply teenager and not everyone is going to like you.  She also told me at 7 weeks pregnant that formula is poison and I might give my baby cancer by feeding it to her.  Ummm... not quite what you want to hear that early in your pregnancy.  Just saying!

    Are you/Will you take steps to prevent yourself from becoming one? Nothing more than my normal filters, but they're pretty good.

    Do you think having a good MIL will/would give you a good example to follow for yourself?Yes, although I could never measure up to her.

    Tell me something good about your MIL. If DH and I argue, she always takes my side.
