Had an OPK helped you?

I was just wondering..because i have never used one but will be trying them for the first time this cycle..if anyone has found them useful or is the temperature and CM monitoring better?

    I use all of the above. Temping is the only way you can be sure you have ovulated though. Check the newbie link at the top of the page and pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  I learned a lot from both!

    Yes ditto.  OPKs and CM can predict O/help you time sex but can't confirm O.  Temping will confirm O but can't help you predict when you will O.  You kinda need to do both.  I don't use OPKs but I check CM and time sex EOD/E36H between CD7-O.  GL

    I charted pretty much from the beginning when we were TTC my first DD, but the cycle I got pregnant (#5) was the one I charted AND used digital OPKs.  

    This time around I am charting and using them right off the bat and will continue to do so until I get pregnant or until I get sick of spending the money on them. :)

    I've been using CBFM, and it has been so wonderful - I was confusing EWCM with some other kinds of CM (who knew there were so many kinds? oh the wondrous world of ttc...) and using the monitor helped me know what I was doing - it also helped me keep track of what can be a sort of tricky and irregular cycle, and it confirmed that I actually ovulate later than most lades (between days 19-22, not around day 14).

    This is my first month trying and we did OPK- it made me feel a whole lot better seeing the smiley face, but it's yet to be determined if it truly helped!

     If I don't get a BFP this month, I have already set-up my FF chart account and will be ready to do both. If you have the time/energy to chart and do OPK, why not?! :)
