  • Unless you are temping there is no way to tell if you will ovulate that day.  Those ovulation predictors are kind of crap because they say you will ovulate halfway through your cycle (Which is usually only true if you have an ACTUAL 28 day cycle...which most women do not)

Sign up with fertility friend (click on my ticker) and get out your thermometer.  You can start charting now.  Go through the fertility friends tutorials and see how you will know when you are ovulating.  Just try and have sex possibly everyday a few days before he leaves because sperm can live inside you for a few days.

  • I don't know if I can reassure you. Fertilityfriend.com is a great way to stay in tune with your body. You can ovulate early or late. If you have normal cycles your fertile days could be anywhere from Dec 1-8. Sperm can live inside you for a couple days too. It's possible, but you may be out this month. Good Luck!!

Ovulation calc's are garbage. If you have never charted temps or used OPK's, there really is no telling when you will actually O. Keep testing with the OPK's twice a day and hopefully you'll get there

This. And dont be too disappointed if it doesnt happen during his window home. Just take the time to learn how your body/ ovulation works that way when he is home you can take the maximum advantage of his home time.

  • Thank You! Im just starting to get really stressed about it. We are both 24 and we have been trying a year..unfortunantly he is away while he is working which is making it near impossible to get pregnant..and he cannot seem to understand why im so upset!

Can you go with him on a trip? Do you Ovulate regularly and around the same time every month? If so Id just plan a trip with him around the time youre supposed to O and have at it.

Have you read TCOYF?  It might help, as well as charting, especially if you've been trying for a year.  GL :)

  • Definitely check out fertility friend through any of our tickers in our signatures. Check out their tutorials to help understand how and when your body ovulates & keep using the OPKs. Be prepared to not ovulate before he leaves, but your best shot is of course to just have sex as much as you can while he's here (then at least you did what you could). Good luck! I'd definitely recommend charting too- it's the only for sure way to know when you're ovulating and might take some of the stress out of a traveling schedule. :)
  • It would definitely be nice if we got exactly what we wanted when it comes to TTC, but it really doesn't work that way. Take the advice of all the previous posters. Fertilityfriend.com, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, etc.

    GL :)
