Hey there! I'm new at this site, and in TTC! I went off of my BC in August due to switching brands, and gaining about 7-10 lbs in a few short months! My first period was normal (for me) lasting 5 days! My second period was only a day or two late (October 16th) with VERY little cramping, I bled one day, nothing the next (17th), then on the evening of the 18th I started to bleed for about 2-3 days. I have to include that in those few days I was on my period it probably didn't fill up 2 tampons, TMI, I know! About 2-3 weeks ago I had taken a strong dose of Amoxil, for 2 days, to treat a sore throat. I had some minor cramping starting on November 14th, and it lasted about 7 days! I usually only cramp like a day or so before my period begins! I've read that that could have been implantation cramping, but I've had no spotting to go along with that! Other than that I have had no other symptoms other than the occas. headache! So now here I am (Nov. 22nd) almost 7 days late! I've taken 2 HPTs, 1st test at one day late, 2nd test at 5 days late, both showing negative. I'm planning on making a trip to the DR tomorrow, and I'm just wondering if I should even waste my time in going for a blood test or if the antibiotics could be putting the halt on AF! HELP!!
Re: What to do?
Yes it Definitely does!
It is more likely that you have ovulated late than it is that youre period is late. Try signing up for Fertility Friend (click anyones ticker) and take the tutorials. They will help you learn about your body and how ovulation works and how to detect ovulation. But to answer your ?, no the antibiotics shouldnt be making your period late, if anything they wouldve made your O late. But I doubt it wouldve even done that.
Mid cycle cramping is normal, in fact it couldve have even been O cramping.
If I were you I wouldnt waste the money for a blood test. There is absolutely no point. If you are PG an HPT would pick up on it. Since you havent been charting your BBT this month, I would suggest taking an HPT 1 a week or so until your period starts or until you hit 60 days without your period. At that point go see the Doc about why your period hasnt come yet.
ETA: Also, please lurk. If you had you wouldnt have needed to even ask this question. But also try looking at the Newbie info at the clicky link at the top of the board page. There is a TON of helpful info in that.
First, paragraphs.
Second, try to lay off the !!!
Third, if it was red bleeding enough for a tampon, it was AF.
Fourth, start charting - you could have ovulated late. Click my ticker to sign up for FF. The only way you know if/when you O'ed is through charting and seeing a clear bi-phasic temp shift pattern.
Fifth, read TCOYF.
Sixth, take a test, we can't tell you if you're PG.
Seventh, lurk.
Eighth, have a nice day.
Props to all of you that made it through this post.
Lol
Sulfa has persuaded me to be nicer. She's so sweet all the time. I figured I should try too.
1. I'm asking for suggestions, not RUDE comments. Keep those to yourself
2. I'm new at this, and I'm looking for suggestions, not someone to criticize my errors.
3.When you were starting out did you want people to be bitchy to you, and treat you like you were ignorant, no, I don't think so.
4. Never comment on my posts again.
5. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The girls on here are super sweet, but yes if you read the newbie link you will learn a lot before even posting & you will not get flamed for asking those kind of questions. I was the same way at first but it does get old after awhile reading the same questions over and over.
The only way you will know your pregnant is to test. I know easier said than done and any of the girls on here will agree with that statement. Most of us are POAS-aholics lol. But good luck to you girly! BTW where in WV are you from ? I have friends in Princeton.
I totally gave you the benefit of the doubt until this...
My advice at this point is to stop while you are behind. Lurk and learn the feel of this board before asking questions and youll find a lot of your questions already answered. This is a great place to learn great info and get support of you participate, but keep in mind it is not a support group. It is a conglomerate of women TTC.
We dont all like each other and we dont all agree just like the real world, but it would benefit you to act a bit more mature. Big girl panties dear.
Points 2 - 5 seem to be rude comments on your part, no?

You're welcome!!!!!!!!!
PS - Thanks for using line breaks. kthxbai
Oh okay. Your welcome! Oh one one more thing NEVER delete a post! EVER! It is not a good thing and you will get flamed way worse than this time. Good luck to you & take the rude comments with a grain of salt, because one day you will understand why the same questions get old lol. No worries.
You are TOTES right, you have NO manners. Or common sense. Good luck with that!
Your period isn't "late". Your cycles were only 28 days bc you were on BC, or did you take medication all that time without finding out how it works?
