Tested positive for fetal fibronectin- question for you ladies!

Hi All-

Would you entertain a question from a concerned Feb 2011 mama?  I started bleeding last week and after an internal exam I tested positive for fetal fibronectin, which i'm told when present signals that I have increased risk of pre-term labor within the next 2 weeks.  My doctor had me admitted to the hospital and I've received 2 steroid shots to help develop the baby's lungs.  I'm 28 weeks 1 day along and I was wondering if any of you had a similar experience with testing positive for it, and how soon you went into labor after.  Thanks for any input you have about your experiences!

    I had a positive fFN test at 27 weeks. I was admitted to the hospital for the steroid shots and remained on hospital bedrest. I was able to hold out for 5 more weeks when Baby A's water broke. My twins were born at 32 weeks. I hope that you can hold out for many many more weeks.

    I didn't have the fFN test.  My baby boy was delivered at 26w2d and he is doing great overall.  Thoughts and prayers to you!

    I had a + FFN test at 30 weeks.... I delivered at 32 wks.  Sending you thoughts and prayers you keep your LO growing for many, many more weeks.

    My OB said a +FFN does not always mean you will go into labor....

    I was in PTL when they did my test....so I think that's why I only held off for 2 weeks.....

    I am just over 25 weeks and had a positive fetal fibronectin test last week as well- I didn't have to be admitted to the hospital but I was sent home with meds that I have to take every 6 hours and I am on restrictions now.. I haven't been able to find much info on it yet but wish you all the best!

    I only lasted 7 days afterward.  2 days after the test, my water broke and 5 days later I delivered at 30wks 1day.  I had preterm labor for about 3 weeks before hand and was in and out of the hospital during that time but never admitted..?? In my opinion bedrest doesn't work.  If that baby wants to come, they will!
