I hate my in-laws-to-be (rant - LONG)
Seriously. Can't stand them. We moved here for these crazy a$$e$??!!!
Ok, already vented about his sexist, arrogant, pretentious, hypocritical, p.i.t.a. pediatrician father. I call his step mother "Robot Chicken". She is a total judgmental, unemotional, arrogant, fake, general practitioner. They both have no respect for James and his five siblings. They saw the kids two nights a MONTH when they were growing up and wanna preach about how to be parents. Ugh. They refuse to accept and respect that I am JEWISH NOT CHRISTIAN and DO NOT WANT TO BE CONSTANTLY HARASSED TO CONVERT!!!!! They have done so many things these past few months to make me want to write them off that I nearly have to bite my tongue in two when i am around them. Now it's friggin holiday time and the events are hosted in their house of all places. WOOHOO! Everyone thinks they are jerks but no one will say it. You may see me on the news next week... "witnessed human spontaneous combustion!" His dad actually considered uninviting us to the family thanksgiving dinner b/c Ari does not have his MMR vaccine!!! WTH is he worried about if everyone else there has been immunized to his liking??? Plus, HELLO the kids have pediatricians they see regularly who give them the ok to attend public school for pete sake!
His sister that lives nears us is wonderful. EXCEPT that she is too weak to take her two children, 5 &7 (one of them Asbergers), out of the house of an admitted alcoholic who is verbally abusive who left her for TWO YEARS to live with HER BEST FRIEND! She hates him. The kids are in therapy. The therapists told her that the kids are damaged due to the home life. She doesn't discipline the boys enough so they do not listen to her - probably learn to disregard her from their father. AND she found MANY MANY YOUNG TEEN PORN sites visited by him on the computer!!!! I asked her once if she thought my 15 year old daughter would be safe from his eye and possible hitting on and she told me "NO!" So now I cannot go to or take my daughter to any events for her kids (who i really do love) that are held in her house (he doesn't go to family events prolly b/c of the above mentioned reasons)!
Oh, and his mother is bipolar and even on meds she is unstable. She is always the victim in her head and it drives me batty! She had his younger brother in her mid-late 40's via invitro and she doesn't discipline him b/c she is too busy trying to be his buddy. He is 15. i like him, but worry about him. She is a kind woman and who very much does respect my difference of religion, but her instability makes it so that I do not want my kids around her.
My family is not fabulous either, I speak to one person on my mom's side and one person on my ex/step-dad's side. The difference is that I did not move us into their backyard.

Ugh, Kandie, I hope you make it through without exploding... but if you feel it coming, I vote you aim for mister control-freak pediatrician.

How awful! So sorry you are going through this.
The holidays seem to bring out the "best" in people. Especially inlaws.
Wow, your family drama makes mine seem like a magine short story.
If it were me, I would call Child Protective Services in your county and give them heads up about the SIL's husband. In WV, you do not need hard proof, just suspicion of s problem to call.
OH.MY.GOD!!!! Kandie!?!?! Seriously, you need this now? UGH! I am SO, SO, SO sorry you have to deal with this. I hope your stay there is temporary and you and James can move one day to a place that is all "yours" where you can raise your family in peace and be surrounded by lots of love and happy things. {{{HUGS}}}
BTW - If your having turkey just remember, if served to the wrong person, smaller bones can be missed and swallowed accidentally ... just sayin'
