I am thinking of getting my mom a Kindle for xmas. I have a couple of questions though:
1. Is the screen really glare proof? She travels alot (which is why I thought it would be good), but mostly to hot climates so she spend alot of time reading in the sun.
2. Is it easy to use (load up books, etc)? She is not super with new technology. She has learned to use her iphone, but not without lots of help from me and my sister.
3. Are the compatible with a Mac?
TIA
Re: Who has a Kindle? Some questions
1. Yes. It's pretty cool.
2. Yes. You can either do it on the computer through the amazon website or actually use the Kindle to browse and buy books. You might have to sit down with her at first and show her, but it's really easy (too easy, I spend too much money).
3. Don't know, but I don't see why not, as long as you can access the amazon website, it shouldn't be a problem. There's no need to attach it to your computer unless you download the book to the computer first or are putting music or pdf files on it (which I'm guessing she wouldn't even need to do).
FWIW - We have 2 kindles - one for me and one for DH. We used to share but we got to the point where we couldn't anymore. We rarely read "real books" at all.
