I posted last week that I was heading to the doctor to try and convince them to prescribe a med I was on while I was pregnant for bad headaches. They seemed reluctant. I went today and they did give it to me but are strongly urging me to try acupuncture. The physician's assistant said she used to suffer from the same thing (not migraines but really severe headaches) and this helped.
Just curious if anyone has tried it and it if helped.
Re: Anyone have acupuncture for headaches?
I'm a LMT, I'd totally advise massage and acupuncture. I suffered from terrible migraines during pregnancy and the typical treatments didn't work well for me. Acupuncture is very relaxing and can often accomplish multiple treatment goals each session. During pregnancy I went for constipation/migraines/insomnia/anxiety.
If you have insurance, call your insurance company and ask if you have a, "natural health benefit," ask them if that covers acupuncture. If so you can usually go on your insurance companies website and look for a participating acupuncturist.
Good luck, I promise it's not scary, everyone is nervous at first
