I don't plan to do this again, but I was unsure what to get at the Cheesecake Factory, so asked my waiter for advice. He suggested Chicken Madeira. It was great, until I got home and realized Madeira is a wine. I only ate part of it and it wasn't heavy on the sauce. Should I be worried? I'm a huge worrier and am sure this won't matter, but I didn't plan to consume ANY alcohol during pregnancy and now I'm worried. Has anyone gotten advice from their doctors on this?

Re: eating foods cooked with wine?
Goodness no! Most if not all of the alcohol would have been burned off in the cooking process. Even if there is some left, it is such a small amount it won't hurt anything. Calm down.

Thanks for the advice. Do any of you guys continue to order chicken marsala, madera, etc, while pregnant and continue to cook with wine? Again, I don't really plan to, but am just wondering what everyone else does. Probably should be on anti-anxiety meds, but then I'd worry they'd hurt the baby!

You didn't consume alcohol...it cooks out.

gee-zus, i think you NEED some wine
Most definetly YES! I love cooking with wine. As all of the pps have said, the alchol burns off, so why give up the flavor?
