Okay, so I estimate that I'm 4 weeks pregnant (!!!!) and I'm leaving on Thursday for Colorado for a snowboarding trip. Can I go? Can I snowboard?! Help!!
As long as your careful there should be no reason. My Dr gave me permission to ski in my 2nd trimester if I was careful because of the weight shift. But this year as long as you aren't too sick I would do it. If worse comes to worse you can enjoy the lodge.
at 4 weeks? Sure. My sister is an OB and she herself was skiing until about 17-18 weeks, when balance started to be an issue. Just be careful...no black diamonds!
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."

Gosh, this is a tough one. If it were me (and I'm an experienced skiier), I wouldn't go. The high altitude, the possibility of falling, and the strenuous exercise would all be enough for me to stay home.
My doc told me "no" when I wanted to go paintballing at six weeks. He said it wasn't because he thought something would necessarily happen (because the uterus was still protected behind the pelvic bone), but he said if I fell hard and then something happened with the pregnancy down the road, I'd always wonder if it was my fault for not being careful and sitting that one event out. Just a thought!
On the other hand - At 3 or 4 weeks (before I knew I was pregnant), I was riding roller coasters...
I don't know. I had bleeding this pregnancy brought on by "strenuous" activity: just a day out with my kiddo. I was on bed rest for three days because of it. My first pregnancy I did whatever and had no bleeding and now this one I am much more careful.

Well, thanks for all of the input, Ladies!! I'm beyond thrilled that we are having a baby and praying that it's not just a "chemical pregnancy"... I guess I'm just going to have to pray about it. I'll keep you all posted on what I decide. Thanks so much for your responses... I sincerely appreciate them!! Cheers, Preggers!!
My doc sent me a package of info on what to do and what to avoid. Skiing was specifically on the "avoid" list, so if it were me, I'd skip it.

I skied in 1st tri with DD. I had a feeling I was pg but didn't know how far along (I was 5-6 weeks). It was fine but I am not a pro so mostly bunny hills and small hills for me.
I just made sure I didn't go into the hot tub with everyone after skiing.
