Hi everyone!
My name is Kristi and this will be my first child (hopefully, fingers crossed until week 40 right?). My husband and I had been TTC for 14 months and I have gone through 2 very early miscarriages so the worry/paranoia levels are very high in my world. (Thank goodness for the internet so I can google every little thing I'm feeling to know it's normal)
On to my stupid question...
Is engaging your abs dangerous for a developing baby? I should be at about 6 weeks now but worry that just by doing stupid stuff like sitting up in chairs or twisting my body to stretch my back are going to cause harm. I also push around heavy computer carts at work which causes me to engage my abs (talking with dr. about that part tomorrow at my visit).
Be patient with me please I have no clue what I'm doing!
Re: Intro and a stupid question
First of all, welcome. Congrats on your pregnancy. Lots of us have had losses, so you're not alone with the anxiety, trust me.
Secondly, no, you can't hurt your baby like that. Regular physical activity is safe and healthy. :-)
Congrats and Welcome! I hope this little one sticks for you
I don't think using your abs is dangerous at all. Some women on here are very active and do full workouts at the gym. I wouldn't start any new workout plan though and of course take things easy, but little things like turning shouldn't be a problem. If something hurts, I would stop doing it.
As far as moving heavy carts - defn ask your doctor. I tend to err on the side of caution, but mostly likely it's not a big deal.
Good luck!
PGAL/PAL welcome

Congrats and welcome to the board!
My DR said any exercise is fine as long as I can carry a conversation while doing it. So a little ab work shouldn't be a problem!
Good luck!

I've missed you too! I should drop by E one of these days eh?
Some days, I'm STILL in a little bit of shock that I'm gonna be a July mom... I got my BFP last Monday!
So glad to see you here.... always so nice to see a familiar "face"

No... do tell! Who else is KU? I'd love to know
Welcome and congrats! I'm sorry to hear about your losses.
I talked to my dr. about exercises and he said there are no concerns with abs. He recommended lower impact activities for me but said other exercises are okay as is.
H&H pregnancy to you!

Yes I did hear about Tide but not the others. Wow!
Anyway I gotta run for dinner but very happy to see you around here. Take care!
Congratulations and Welcome! H&H 9 months! There are several on this board who have had m/c so your concerns are held by many of us. You're in good company.
Ditto pp's that you should be totally fine, but check with your OB about the heavy comp cart.
