1. How big is your stash if you're a SAHM? How big is it if you're not?
2. Will pumping when I'm engorged (I'm an EBF'er) deplete my supply? (I was engorged on my left side this morning, so R ate off of the right and I pumped and stored the left).
3. Which do you find more effective: manual or electric pumps? (I have a hard time getting milk out when I am not engorged).

Re: Pumping ?'s
1. I'm a working mom, and currently have a fairly small stash (40 ounces) because I discovered I had a lipase issue and had to throw out a lot of milk.
2. Pumping will increase your supply.
3. I use the Medela Pump In Style Advanced double pump. It works well for me, and I have to pump 3 times a day.
1. SAHM, i have 600 oz in the freezer. I pump in the mornings (roughly an hour before DS wakes up then he nurses, and i dont pump until empty) and i get roughly 6 oz off. but it tooks months to get to that. And i started the first 2 months of his life with major low supply issues. So i was freezing 6 oz/day. Then as DS is eating cereal i mix it with my BM from the morning. Now DS is up using 4 oz of BM/day in cereal, so i save up my extra 2 oz until i have 6 to freeze. The goal is at 9 months he will be using all 6 oz in cereal so now more will go in the freezer.
2. The more you pump the more you will make.
3. I had a pisa, but i have to massage while i pump to get it out. And if i try to empty it's all lot hard and takes a lot longer (40 min of pumping vs 10ish min) And then i hand squueze afterwards. The more regularly you pump the better your body will respond
1. I'm a SAHM and I don't have any freezer stash. I have low supply and supplement with one bottle of formula a day. I have about 20 oz in my fridge, so I'm always a few bottles ahead of DD.
2. The more you pump the more you'll get - supply and demand.
3. I have a Medela PISA. Go for the double electric pump!
