does teething cause diarrhea?

I took DS to the dr the other day and she said he had a slight cold but the rest of his symptoms could be from teething (he has a massive amount of drool, runny nose, diarrhea, pulling on ears) She told me to keep an eye on his diaper situation and to only feed him starches until his bowels go back to normal. Well this morning the poor lil guy still had diarrhea (4 days now) and the dr isnt in today...im going to still stick with the starches and offer some pedialyte but im getting a little worried. Did any of your LO's have a diarrhea issue when they were teething?

    Yes, I think so. My son had it everytime he got a tooth!!

    it's very common.. all the extra drool makes them have loose stools! give LO things that act as binders to help.. rice, pasta, banana, etc 

    oh and start slathering on the diaper cream now, because a rash is probaby imminent from the poop!!
