Family photo clothing question

We're getting our family photos taken on the 1st.

Should we all wear the same color tops? Or should I mix up a little bit? I know it'll be with a black background.

    While I love the color black, I don't like it as a backdrop.  If anyone is wearing anything dark it seems to get lost in the background.

    I might see if she can change the backdrop color. She has white also. It's a friend on mine that is taking our pics.

    We had our family photos yesterday and all the adults wore a mix of white and black. Our parents wore shirts that were both white and black. It made them pop and was fun to have a mix of the colors.
