January 2011 Moms

When are you due?...(vent)

Um Jan. 16th. Kind of getting tired of answering that especially the ones that ask me repeatedly.

One customer asked me that was like What?!?

Yes I know I am huge but only in the belly area and no I am not carrying twins.

Anyone else tired of this yet? I feel like wearing a sign around my neck stating when I am due and It's a Boy!

  • I get this a lot. I've had 3 people say, "you must be about to pop!" and then look completely shocked when I tell them I'm due in early January. I keep telling myself that my doctor isn't concerned about my weight and it really is all belly but it still pisses me off.

  • People usually tell me I look small and they thought I was due in April!! It's annoying because I think I am huge, and so what if they think I'm not? The baby will grow rapidly during these next 6 weeks!!!
  • I'm so happy I haven't gotten any of those comments this time. I do however get the "You'll have your hands full with a 2 year old and a baby!"

    Really? I didn't realize that!

  • It aggravates me when most people tell me I dont look big enough to be as far along as I am, and then the ones I'm close to (immediate family mainly) tell me I look like I'm about to pop! I have not gained much weight at all. Last Dr's appointment I had only gained 10lbs total and I'm carrying a baby who is weighing in as above average, ranking in the 94th percentile. So, I feel I'm doing pretty good! And it pisses me off so bad when SIL talks about how big I'm getting and how much worse its going to get before LO gets here. I have news for SIL she was twice my size when she was this pregnant, and she looked further along than she really was the entire pregnancy. Not to mention how she complained, and lashed out! I have not been that bad!! I wish she would stop trying to compare my pregnancy to hers, they've been nothing alike!!!!!
  • Yes! I am getting sick of this! I think I have a new tactic: when some one asks, "When are you due?"

    My response,"What!? i'm not pregnant!"

Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. lol Big Smile

  • I'm due on Jan 16th with a boy too. And I am so sick of the comments. I have a coworker who asks daily when I am due and then has to comment on how big or little she feels I am that day. So annoying. Oh, and just this last week another coworker informed that I no longer just look really fat, but pregnant. How kind of her to let me know.
  • It's pretty hard to not be asked questions [mostly by older women] when I am nothing but belly. I don't mind the random people saying "When are you due?, What is it?, Wow, he's hanging really low!, or I think you'll go sooner!"

But I HATE the "You still have 8 more weeks?!, How many are in there?, You look ready to pop."

Well people, my doctor says I am measuring perfect. Only a 22 weight gain thus far. And when my LO is ready, I will be too.

  • Wow, that makes 3 boys on January 16th!

Yeah, I have customers like that too... the ones that see me ::every day:: and still ask. Okay- I get it. You care. But if I'm feeling like hot sh!t on a stick, I'm still going to smile and tell you everything's great. Y'know why? Because I don't want to hear that you think there's more than one in there, etc. One old guy actually looked at me today and goes "Oh... I didn't know you were... expecting..."

I smiled and politely told him yes, that it's a boy and I'm not due until January, but inside I was going so you thought I was just fat??

  • I love the shirt! But you know what I REALLY want? A shirt with the "no touch" symbol!!

I hate that I'll get the "wow, you're giant" and the "Oh, you're so tiny" comments almost back to back in the course of a day/week. Um, how about I'm EXACTLY where I'm supposed to be with this pregnancy? gr....

  • I'm SO glad that I work in a school where there are always pregnant teachers. Most people are already bored with the topic and don't bother to comment. I'm also psyched that I'll be done with work by 38 weeks, although if I go overdue and have to go back to work after winter break I'm sure the comments will be ridiculously annoying.
  • What bothersme more than "when are you due?", is "what are you having?".  I want to scream "I am having a baby, not a monkey, puppy, or elephant!"  I know people are just trying to be polite.  I guess hormones are making me crazy and I am a bit of a smartbutt on top of that.Wink

Just think, a few more weeks and those questions will (hopefully) be behind us all!Smile
