I spoke with the doctor today, so far there has been no bacteria growth and no signs of malignancy on her samples. There are still a few bacteria cultures still outstanding but those were for treatable infections. She said it was probably an infection that we have gotten with the antibiotics but the inflammation is still there, possible due to some necrosis caused by the primary infection. So, we have a follow up appointment on the 1st and we will discuss if we need to remove that node. I know this sounds terrible but if we do need it gone I want to do it before the end of the year. We have already met our deductible and out of pocket for this year.
Re: f/u to Children's Hospital
Whew to no malignancy and no bacteria growth. That sounds great. Well, except the surgery, but that's a big maybe. I hope the inflammation goes away and it is o-v-e-r for good. Poor kiddo.

I'm glad the worst things are already ruled out.
I don't think it's awful to want to get it done when you have met your deductable. It's not like the timing has an impact on the outcome of the proceedure and that is just the reality of how our insurance system is set up.
