Holy cow... it has the exact opposite effect on my kid- I really thought he was going to get up and start dancing!!!!
ETA:
I guess I should re-phrase. I know tylenol does not make them sleepy. What I meant is: don't they usually sleep more readily after taking it because the pain goes away?
I was just taken aback by D's reaction- I guess it worked so well that he thought it was time to party.
Re: Isn't tylenol supposed to make them tired?- EDITED
Oh dear!
I don't think there is anything about Tylenol that makes them sleepy. It can facilitate sleep if it relieves pain that has been keeping them from sleeping, but it shouldn't have a sedative effect.
Tylenol shouldn't make children drowsy...
It is strictly a pain reliever.
Caroline always sleeps better after she gets a dose of tylenol, but she has been teething forever, so it helps with that.
there is nothing in tylenol that makes people tired.... generally kids sleep better if they are in pain and you give them tylenol- simply b/c they aren't in pain anymore... but it doesn't make them tired.
benedryl makes people tired- but with children it can often have the opposite effect.... even some adults have the opposite effect with it (my dh is one of them).
