SHE FALLS ASLEEP IN MY ARMS AFTER MANY MIN OF PATTING, SHUSHING, ROCKING & WAKES RIGHT UP WHEN I TRY TO PUT HER IN HER ROCK&PLAY. TODAY MY EXCUSE IS THAT SHE'S STILL A LITTLE CONGESTED, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING WRONG!
I was horrible with this too, but for the past week I have swaddled him then nursed and just put him in his crib and he has put himself to sleep! I never tried to do it before because I thought there was no way he would fall asleep but he did! Worth a try...

That's what we do minus the nursing part. I nurse her when she wakes up not before I put her down. And she puts herself to sleep everytime. The few times I have tried to rock her she doesn't go down. The only time I nurse before sleeps is night time.
I currently am experiencing my first successful nap in his pnp! He ate and fell asleep doing that, so I decided to give it a go. Every other time he won't stay down for naps, I have to hold him or be on the move in the car or shopping or what not. Today I swaddled him, he woke up and fussed for a second, I put him in the pnp fully expecting to have to get him in a second and he fell right to sleep! Good luck - maybe swaddling will help.
My LO does the same thing! I've started putting her down awake, rubbing her head and putting her paci in while she's laying down. It seems to be working so far.
Two tips: try holding just a little longer and wait for a moment when she seems totally asleep - loose limbs, etc.
Then, when you put her down, try pressing your hand gently on her chest. This helps my LO feel like I am still holding him for that shaky moment when he's just put down. Works like a charm but your results may vary of course... GL!
