So yesterday I was having a lot of menstrual cramping and low back pain. No notable contractions and nothing time-able. So I did make a call to the office and they said to take benadryl and tylenol and see if that helps. I did that yesterday morning and slept most of the day. When I woke up I felt better just pressure into my back, which I didn't think was callable. THEN, later in the evening I started having a small amount of thick brown discharge and started getting concerned it was my mucus plug. So after it happened again I decided to call the nurse oncall and she of course told me I needed to be seen. I got to L&D and was hooked up to the monitors (which baby was kicking like crazy) and they saw "some" contractions and uterine irritability. They did cultures and UA. Everything came back perfect and I had no questions answered as to why I was having this. I am so frustrated. I am glad that I don't have an infection or anything but I just feel silly for going in. Everything says cramping with discharge needs attention, but apparently in my case it was "normal". The hospital I went to is a teaching hospital and I got the most nervous resident EVER! Literally as my legs were in the stirups he asked the nurse "her cercix looks closed right". OMG. seriously at least pretend you know what you are doing for my sake! I luckily have a follow up with my Dr. on Monday and maybe she can answer my questions! Sorry this was sooo long. I kinda needed to vent!
Re: Guess it was my turn for L&D..sigh
Don't feel silly at all, and welcome to the apparent early contraction club, LOL. I got frustrated with my caregivers today and last night too.
It's always better to go in.
