my tooth!!!

My tooth is killing me!! It hurts so bad I feel like my eyeball is going to fall out from the pressure. 

 Anyone get work done on their teeth while pregnant?  Any home remedies to hold me over until I get in touch with my dentist?

    I just got a root canal 2 days ago.  Dental work while your pregnant is pretty much the same as when you're not.  They will most likely have to do an x-ray.  My dentist used the digital type which supposedly a safe as standing in the sun for a couple of hours.  They numb you up just the same...it stays localized so its not dangerous.  Really only difference was I didn't get the good pain pills for afterwards.  Best you can do is tylenol.  Go get it taken care of....its more dangerous to ignore it and let it cause an infection.  Good luck:)   Also maybe some orajel?

    Clove oil is supposed to help toothaches.  You should be able to find it at a pharmacy or natural type store.

    Don't have any advice until you can talk to your dentist - sorry.  But I did want to share that my ob did say that getting dental work done while pregnant is fine, just make sure to let the dentist know.  I was told that most now can use something a little different when numbing the area - has something left out so its better for baby.  Sorry I can't remember what its called - I never get shots to numb mouth when having dental work so I didn't feel the need to remember what it was called.  Good luck to you.

    They recommend waiting until 2nd tri to get dental work, but if it is something that needs to be taken care of during the 1st tri, it's okay and better to take care of it before it gets worse or infected. There is a different type of numbing medicine that is safer during pregnancy, so be sure to tell your dentist. Dental work is okay in the 3rd tri as well, it's just that most women have a hard time sitting in the dental chair for a long time due to the baby's size and position.
