Colace, as PP said, and Miralax. I am actually on Miralax everyday because my bowel situation got so out of hand. The Colace alone did nothing for me.
Prune juice, prunes, dried appricots, Total cereal, lots of water to get and keep things moving. I hate prune juice, so I mix it with ginger ale (or just put it in a juice glass and bolt it down as fast as I can. That depends on how pukey I am that day.) Also, I eat a mini-bag of popcorn everyday at the suggestion of the ER doctor, and it seems to also work wonders (be sure to floss!)
Stay away from apples, bananas, and excessive dairy/fatty foods.
Somehow, I have thus far avoided the hemmies (knocks on wood, spits on ground, throws salt over left shoulder). I know sitz baths, Tuks wipes can help somewhat, or your OB can rx something.
Be sure to check with them re. any of the medications mentioned here.
Ever since I've been taking PNV I've been taking fiber supplements and a stool softener (Colace, or I take one w/Senna if I haven't gone in a day, it moves things along but no cramping at all for me. colace is best if it works for you alone, bec it's so gentle, but sometimes it's not enough)
My advice, buy the target brand of colace (way cheaper) and start w/2 pills in am and pm if you are stopped up now. Otherwise to "maintain" a healthy bowel, just one in the AM and one in the PM.

I've been one of the lucky ones and have had no constipation my whole pregnancy. I drink tons of water and walk for 2 miles (more in the beginning, starting to SLOW down now every morning....I think it's what has really helped.
I had a couple decaff coffees during this pg....and after what they've done to me, I think they could fix the constipated momma.... worth a shot!
Tucks pads, sitz bath and sitting on ice helps with the hemi's/ Also if it gets really bad, my OB said Prep H is fine. Ugh my sympathies, I've had them since 2nd tri.
