How will you Xmas Shop this year?

Online? Black Friday sales in the stores?
If online shopping, what sites do you love?

Re: How will you Xmas Shop this year?

  • After thanksgiving, you can't catch me in a store. Unless I duck out on a random weekday at lunch. But never on the weekends or evenings.

I do 90% of my shopping online, mostly Amazon. I have a couple small catalogs I get things from too, but mostly Amazon and some Etsy.

The worst part of Christmas as far as I am concerned. DD and DH are all shopped for. My folks are 50% done. Just a few ends to tie up. Phew!!

Last year I encouraged everyone to register on Amazon and it made life so much simpler. GL!!

  • Amazon.com is my best friend.

  • Online all the way.  I do not want to take a 2 year old and a 5 month old into shops, nor do they want to be there - and I don't want to spend my weekends shopping without them, so Amazon.com is my best friend.

By signing up for amazon mom, you get a free three month membership to Amazon Prime so shipping is free :)

I will also probably hit up Target for some stocking stuffers.

  • Online.  I love Amazon.
  • What if someone wants to return something you bought on Amazon. How does that work?

it's super easy. I bought a book for my dad last year that I hated. You just put it back in the box, stick the label on it and send it. they credit your account once it's received.

  • hands down.

    amazon.

make sure you have the PRIME free shipping.

All the REALLY good sales happen around 2 weeks before christmas.

The amazon deals are INSANE!!! you have to be fast and act quick on them though

  • Definitely online! Mostly amazon, sometimes I look at boutique sites to get ideas then find the item on amazon, lol. I can't remember the last time I shopped in-store.

  • 95% online.  I do try to shop for "local" gifts too that you can't get online for some people too.
  • All of the above.  I tend to stick to Amazon unless shopping for a particular item that is only sold elsewhere.  I will hit 1 or 2 stores on BF but that's it.  Most of the stuff I already picked up on sale as I saw it.

  • I am proud to say I am 90% finished with my Christmas shopping!  I only placed one order on-line (and got three gifts on that one order).  The rest I bought in actual stores.  But, I did most of my shopping in the morning while the boys were at pre-school.

ETA:  You will not catch me in a store on Black Friday.  I have only done that once and didn't get any super fantastic deals out of it.  And I was pregnant at the time too!  It must have been the pg hormones that made me crazy enough to attempt Black Friday shopping!

  • Online!  I buy $25+ of stuff at Amazon so I get free shipping!  Lots of other places Gap, Walmart are offering free shipping now too.

DH and I save our change all year long and we take it to the grocery store & use the Coinstar machine there and they count it for free if you get a gift cert to Amazon.com so we do that to feel like we have xtra money for Xmas shopping :)

DH's credit card has reward points that you can redeem for gift certs so we buy those for people too.

  • Bought the kids a playhouse from TRU a few weeks ago and then the rest of their gifts came from a Burton Proform.  Board, Boots, Bindings, Helmets, gloves and pants for mama!  Now they are done!

OMG this for sure.  DS hates to shop so this is the best alternative.  Plus I love getting packages lol.

  • If I am the only person who actually prefers to shop in stores, then why are the stores still so crowded?!?!?!

I like to pay cash at Christmas so I do not have large bills in January and also so returns are easier.  It's REALLY hard to pay cash online. haha

  • I always online shop!

    My favorite for DD/baby stuff:

    Baby Gap/Old Navy

    Daily Tea Collection website

    Otherwise, NBR:

    Target

    Overstock.com

    Ebags.com (for friend/sister gifts)

  • Ughhh I *hate* shopping with a passion, online or in store. I like to think of a gift then figure out how to get it. This year I am totally lost on what to get DH and sister. Usually I go to borders and get everyone else stuff from there all at once - stationary, books, calendars and cute games and kits usually go far with people in my $20 range. Then we hit Harry and David for the rest of the people we need to buy for - work people and some distant relatives that I am annoyed DH insists on buying for.
