Recs for Comfy Work Shoes?

I need to buy new shoes for work (what a shocker) - something low, black, and not too grandma-looking, but above all - COMFY!  And with good arch support.  I don't stand around alot, but I walk 10 min. to/from the train.  I work in a law firm, and I will likely be wearing black pants every day!

 Any recommendations?

  • I got a pair of Dr Scholls from walmart and really like them...

  • I just got a pair of black clogs from White Mountain that are pretty comfy.  They have about a 2 inch heel, but the front is elevated too-they're not like platforms or anything though!  I wear them around the hospital and in the pharmacy.
  • go to clarks! ?their privo brand is fantastic (very comfy with arch supports) and they have cute little black sneakers.
  • I just bought these from Famous Footwear

They aren't the cutest things in the world but the cushion inside this shoe is heaven!

  • Last winter I bought a couple pairs of Dansko boots.  I work on my feet all day but still wanted to be stylish. They are pricey. One boot is the risa or rita?  (sorry) and the other is a low ankle boot that I can't remember the name.  Good luck, its worth it to have happy feet.
  • I live in my Dansko clogs - I've got a pair in black & brown and they are pretty much all I wear to work & my feet are happy at the end of the day!
  • I am pretty much wearing Tory Burch Revas in different colors every day, they are SO comfy

  • i went to naturalizer. My feet were swelling that i couldnt find anything! the shoes i got are like black loafers with soft leather and very comfortable! i think they are on sale online this week too. i would look there. good luck!
  • I ditto the Dr. Scholl's (sp?) from WalMart if you wanna shop on a budget. Mine have worn well and I'm in them 10+ hours a day on my feet. I wear them with a pair of kushy feet knee highs and the combo works great. The ones I have are very simple so they don't stand out or look like old lady shoes.

If you have a few bucks to spend get a pair of Clark's! They wear so well and have great support - plus a better selection of styles!?

  • Have you considered Danskos?  The woman I carpool with is a physical therapist (on her feet and/or walking all day).  She has 3-4 very cute pairs, and she lives in them.

They're a bit pricey ($100+), but if you wear them every day, I think it's worth it.

  • DANSKOS!! I'm on my feet all day and they rule!!
