I ripped my pump membrane apart at work...

And I went to Target to replace it, and washed it in very hot soapy water. You're supposed to boil the pump parts 10 minutes before using them, so should I like... scald the milk I pumped using the new membrane? Is there something I should do aside from the hot wash it got before I used it?

  • Can you boil it in a microwave?

If not, I'm sure you're fine.  I wouldn't bother scalding the milk.

  • Dont scald the milk or you will kill any antibodies it is carrying to help your LO.  Honestly as long as you did a good hot wsh you should be fine, I didnt sterilize mine the first time I used and DD never had an issue.

  • I think you'll be fine.  Then again, I'm the type that only washed my bottles in soapy water before using for the first time.

  • I wouldn't worry about it, I think it's fine just to be washed in hot water.
