We don't put up a Christmas tree, I could explain, but it's a long religious reason and I doubt anyone cares lol.
Anyway, growing up my family never really celebrated Christmas in the traditional sense, tree, presents, etc., but I'd like to start some traditions with DD and this baby.
I was thinking of setting up a nativity scene with some lights in place of a tree so that the girls can have a way to participate in celebrating Christmas.
If you have a nativity set where did you get it? I've been looking on e-bay and like the willow tree sets, but I haven't decided yet.
Re: If you have a nativity set, a question.
I got mine at a church boutique. I love it. It seems so special. It looks almost like this:

I have Willow Tree & LOVE it. It's beautiful.
But they're not made of wood - they're ceramic-ish, so they can be broken. I wouldn't have the girls hands-on with it for awhile.
I bought Harrison a stuffed nativity set last year. I forget who makes it...I found it at TJ Maxx for $8.00.
My mom and I searched high and low for the "perfect" nativity set last year that would meet all my wants. I was being very picky because I want to have it for a very long time. After searching the internet, religious stores, etc. we ended up getting one at Kirkland's in our local mall. I think you'll just have to really search for what you want.
Part of our tradition with the nativity scene is to "hide" baby Jesus until Christmas Eve (because it's part of the anticipation of waiting for Jesus' arrival). It was important for me to find a scene that the baby comes out of the manger.
