But now they really piss me off. Whenever I want to walk by a smoker and catch a whiff of their smoke, I want to scream at them, "STOP POISONING MY BABY!!!"
J is a smoker but he's one of the respectful ones. He doesnt smoke near the kids & he wont do it near me now either. He also doesnt toss his butts everywhere & smoke in front of other people unless he asks.

Are the smokers not in designated areas/outside? I'm grateful smoking isn't allowed in public places anymore, even in a "smoking section" in a restaurant, etc. But I don't get upset about someone just smoking randomly outside somewhere or on the street. My mom smokes and DH does (but only while at work) so I can't get angry. They just don't smoke around me.
I really wish my state would go non-smoking in all public places. There is a St Rep who is right now presenting a smoking ban in the House for the 4th time. It keeps getting passed in the House and held up in the Senate year after year. Obviously, I won't be able to drink for the next 7 months, but it would be really nice if I didn't have to miss things like a night out with friends b/c I can't go in a smoky bar.
I've never had an extreme aversion to cigarette smoke but now it's like the worst thing I've ever smelled. I even hate it on people who smoked and then come into a room. *barf*

If you're outside, fine. Whatever. But do you have to stand directly in front of the entrance to the building because it's windy? Whether or not I'm pregnant, I don't want to walk past you blowing smoke... move away from the damn entrance.

Smoking is not allowed at any indoor public places. There's not much I can do about people walking down the street, but what especially annoys me (now that it's getting colder) is people who crowd around near entrances to buildings. I can't avoid those.

I do not understand why people smoke with all the medical evidence against it. Boggles the mind.

Amen. I love that Minnesota is smoke free, but even so, I hate being subjugated to second hand smoke trying to walk on the streets or enter bulidings.
I always wonder how smokers can continue to smoke in Minnesota while they're standing outside freezing their butts off.

They do it in Cleveland too. I could never be a smoker, I'm too much of a sissy when it comes to the cold.
So glad Michigan banned smoking in bars & restaurants. When I was pg with DD I hated going places like BW3s where there was a large bar with smokers. I haven't encountered too many around lately but when I worked it was always my pet peeve this time of year when they practically smoked in the vestibule of our building.
Luckly places here in northern VA are smoke free inside. What KILLS me are the people that smoke very close to doorways at grocery stores, restaurants, malls, etc. I hated it when I didn't have kids, but now I resent it with a child. My child should be able to enter/exit a grocery store with his mom without some smoker blowing smoke in his face .
Oh and at work--we have a department that we call "The Smokers". They take a ton of breaks during the day to smoke and they must smoke a ton of cigarettes on this break because it trails them all day long. The elevators even stink when they aren't in there anymore. If they come into my office, it lingers for awhile. I can't have closed door conversations with any of them because it makes me sick!
DH and I went to France for a babymoon when I was pregnant with DD, and this was before they banned smoking in public. It was horrendous, and I shudder still thinking about it.
My IL's both smoke, I mean chain smoker smoke, and want me to venture down to SC in January with DH for our annual trip, but I told DH unless they promise to not smoke around me and we don't have to sit in the smoking section (SC hasn't banned smoking from public places), I won't go. I refuse to set my child up for future problems just to please them. Thankfully, DH agrees.
I quit smoking the day I got my BFP and after 4 unsuccessful attempts to quit its amazing the willpower you have when you have the right motivation.
But its still a love hate relationship at this point... everytime I smell it I wanna hurl, but I miss the goofing around and BSing in the smoke pit, the chance to go outside a few times a day...I don't miss the act, but I do miss the habit and the "idea"...does that make any sense????
I mean if we replaced the smoke pit with the bubble gum pit? How Freaking AWESOME would that be??? EVEN BETTER...AN ICE CREAM SANDWHICH PIT!!!!!
Oh I used to HATE the smell of smoke when I wasn't pregnant - now that I am I want to scream it's so bad. If I'm at a store I swear I can smell when I smoker has walked anywhere in my vicinity and it makes me feel so sick...and it seems like I can't escape it! Everywhere I go I can smell smoke on someone. Luckily I haven't been near someone actually smoking yet. I hope that day never comes. Ugh. I'm sorry, I hate cigarette smoke more than anything.
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls! Baby Girl #3!

Eh, smokers don't bother me too much unless they can't freaking dispose of their butts properly. I would never dream of eating a candy bar and then throwing the wrapper on the ground....how is throwing your butt on the ground any different? Grrr...
With my first pregnancy about 6 weeks in my nose turned into a dog's nose, everything smelled different and MUCH more offensive. I work with the public (sell insurance in a lower-income part of town) so a lot of my customes would come in smelling of smoke (and unwashed clothes, etc. - NASTY) and it would literally make me gag. I was in 2nd trimester when a lady walked into my office, cigarette in hand, and apologized to me for smoking as she exhaled in my face and handed me her insurance premium. ?!?!? SERIOUSLY? Needless to say, I was livid!
So far my nose isn't causing me as many problems as with the first pregnancy, but I also have a Scentsy warmer in my office now so that helps a bunch!

Re: Smokers really piss me off
LOL I thought maybe I posted this when I was tired earlier...
AMEN! I may not look pregnant yet, but get the heck out of the doorway imbeciles! I'm learning to hold my breath a lot, but it's hard when I'm fuming!
